Saluting the British Legion
The audio visual services team supported the 90th anniversary celebrations for the British Legion in the Staffordshire Moorlands, in Leek Park. Piranha's audio visual experts provided a large scale outdoor PA system which was used for announcements and commentary for the weekends activities.
The Arena area was hosted numerous army bands, battle re-enactments and motorcycle display teams, adverse weather conditions did get the better of some events, but in true British fashion the show went on.
Thankfully, the rainy conditions subsided long enough on Sunday to enable a commemorative church service to take place. The service involved a choir singing to backing tracks and readings from legion veterans and local school children.
Technician Matt Boulton, who supported the event on Sunday, said "All in a days work, whether inside or out for our conference, evenets and audio team - its been a challenging few days with the weather, keeping our equipment dry and our generator running were just a couple of things we had deal with. I’m glad I had a tent to shelter in. Its such a shame that so much had to be cancelled but unfortunately there’s nothing we can do about the good old British weather”.
